Is It Worth Paying for Search Engine Submissions?
To Pay for Search Engine Submissions or Not?
In a word, ‘No’. I personally wouldn’t waste my money paying to have any of my new sites submitted to search engines.

Sure, you can go find one of the free services and try them but don’t waste your money on any of the ‘Submit Your Website to 10,000 Search Engines’ services. These services may well get your website listed in the search engines but that’s all they’ll do. Your site won’t be ranked highly and more importantly you won’t be getting any traffic from these listings.
Your time would be much better spent building quality backlinks to your website, which takes time and effort. If you get your link on one quality website – like any of mine for instance
– it won’t be long before your site has been indexed by Google. This process usually takes 1-2 days providing the site gets regular visits from Googlebot.
If you didn’t know already, all the major search engines automatically trawl the web looking for new links. They list those they find without you having to submit at all. If you get your link listed on a site that is trawled regularly then you can be sure to get a listing sometime soon.
Building quality backlinks also ensures that you are much more likely to get a rankings boost on the major search engines. The more quality backlinks the higher your website will climb.
I use primarily Directory and article submissions to build links for my sites.
Directories will give you a link straight from their website in their index which is usually a list of websites organized into categories. I use Directory Submitter to automate this process. Click here to check it out now!
Article submissions to the 100s of article directories online is another way to build one way links to your site. In this instance the links are created in your article resource box. Most article directories will allow you to put a maximum of two links in your resource box or author bio as it is otherwise known. I recommend you link to your main page and one of your internal pages, for example an internal blog post.
The strategies outlined above will prove a much better dedication of your time, energy and money than submitting to any free or paid search engine submission service. If there is a SE Submission service out there worth the money I haven’t found it.

Why pay for submitting your website or blog. If you can make good original content and plenty of it (especially niche terms and keywords,) they will come. But it also really worthwhile building incomeing links as well. Time and work = money and profits, it is as simple as that.
should not pay for search engine submission.Regular and good comments on top blog or website under your niche will do the trick.
Hi Mal,
A very good analysis of submission services. I also like Directory Submitter. It is a lot of work but it pays off in the end. Article submission and directory submission is probably the best way to get backlinks.

Paying for search engine submission would be a waste of money. For somebody who has time, posting good comments regularly on blogs or websites under their chosen niche can be more rewarding and less costly. Or combining this with article submission (which is also free) can generate very good results in short time.
You absolutely, positively need to get into DMOZ. Google uses this as well as MANY other search engines. Be sure to carefully read the submission guidelines. The category that you choose is very important. If you submit to a non-relevant category you will not be included. Also, read about your site description and follow the format that they want.
Link quality is also be considered. Most of the directories provide dofollow link, but blogs provide nofollow.
