Freeadvertz.com Threatened by Attorney
Freeadvertz.com Threatened by ‘Weekly CONsumer Newsletter’ Attorney
Maybe It’s Time to Stop with the Bullshit and Misleading Marketing. What You Think?
Wow! I didn’t expect my first scam report to be met with a threatening letter from a company lawyer, but it seems someone over at Weekly CONsumer Newsletter is not happy with my exposure of their dodgy business practices.
It all began when I received an email requesting to place an ad on my site. The site to be advertised? None other than Weekly CONsumer Newsletter.
Having checked the IP address of the joker who sent the ad request email – my mother didn’t raise any stupid children
– I ascertained that the same person had ACTUALLY visited the page where the scam report was posted(Before sending the ad request). I suspected then, that either someone was testing my stance on scams, or as I now believe, was testing my contact email.
I emailed them back anyhow, to point out I wasn’t interested in listing their site on Freeadvertz.
Then, late last night I received an email with the ‘Cease and Desist’ letter attached.
Here’s the email(Click on the image to see the full size version):

And the threatening document(Click on the image to see the full size version):

I have a number of issues with this threat:
- 1. I did not copy over your images, text etc etc. I DID take a screenshot of your site for the purposes of showing my readers what to avoid in this site or others like them. You obviously didn’t take too long a look at my page before getting on your high horse and drafting your letter.
2. Your claim that “Freeadvertz purports to be engaged in the business of providing similar services via the Internet”. I don’t think so! I treat my readers and customers with a little more respect and try my best not to mislead them.
3. Your statement that “As it’s name suggests, the WCN website distributes information to consumers”. Are you havin’ a laugh? YOUR FRONT PAGE IS A FALSE, MADE UP, STORY!
It’s interesting too that they turned on the comments feature again over at WCN, after I took issue in my previous post, that comment replies weren’t actually activated. That said, I can’t see your comments ever getting published, unless you have a glowing testimonial of their offer.
Let’s be clear here, I HAVE NOT seen their product. I take issue with HOW they promote it. They represent the story as legitimate and the site as mainstream news and there at the bottom of the site in small print we find:
THE STORY DEPICTED ON THIS SITE AND THE PERSON DEPICTED IN THE STORY ARE NOT REAL. RATHER, THIS STORY IS BASED ON THE RESULTS THAT SOME PEOPLE WHO HAVE USED THESE PRODUCTS HAVE ACHIEVED. THE RESULTS PORTRAYED IN THE STORY AND IN THE COMMENTS ARE ILLUSTRATIVE, AND MAY NOT BE THE RESULTS THAT YOU ACHIEVE WITH THESE PRODUCTS. THIS PAGE RECEIVES COMPENSATION FOR CLICKS ON OR PURCHASE OF PRODUCTS FEATURED ON THIS SITE.
More Damning Reports
I also did a search of the snail mail address on Google:
==>> Mailing Address Search
Some interesting reading there and a long list of other dodgy work at home websites to steer clear of – all seemingly from the same company – NSA Technologies
Here’s some more enlightening anecdotes on ‘Complaints Board’ about My Product Supply Center’s – one of many offshoots of NSA – non honoring of refund requests – Complaints About NSA Technologies
And Scam.com:
===>> More Complaints About NSA Technologies
It’s now 1:26 am in Ireland. I feel if I go on uncovering this stuff I may be here ’til the weekend.
No Crusaders Here
I’m not at all interested AT ALL in setting myself up as a crusader against Internet scams. I was merely trying to warn some of my readers about what to look out for. I’m very annoyed though with these bully-boy tactics. Ironically, my scam report would have blown over with hardly a ripple of controversy. So, I don’t see the point in the threatening letters, really. A politely worded email would have sufficed.
Thanks But No Thanks!
Oh, and one more irony of ironies. Look whose site appears at the bottom of the Weekly CONsumer News site(Probably scraped from Google):

Thanks for the thought guys but if there’s one thing I’ve learnt in marketing it is NOT to get linked from bad ‘neighbourhoods’. ![]()
A New Direction?
Here’s a novel idea, instead of drafting more threatening letters, why don’t you take the time to remove the falsified testimonials, the false story, and your dodgy newsletter theme and tell the TRUTH? You know? The good stuff about how you have to actually ‘work’ to make a living online AND invest some cash too.
OK, you may not sell as many copies of your product – and you may even have to provide the occasional refund – but at least you’ll sleep at night. You never know, if you’re really honest and upright you may not even need a high paid attorney – perish the thought. ![]()
Conclusion:
In closing, I’d ask all my readers to do THEIR part and spread this story far and wide. Use the ‘Sharing is Sexy’ links below to bookmark this post and the ‘Tweet’ button to the top right to add to Twitter.
I’d also love to hear your comments for or against this practice of setting up false news sites, or misleading the public in general, in order to sell internet products or services. Are you for or against it? Would YOU be a good customer if you discovered you’d been misled?
I’ll keep you all posted on any developments with this story.
Also, if you have any reports about NSA Technologies – good or bad – we’d love to hear about them in the comments below(Yes, they’re turned on).
Anyone from any of the above companies should feel free to defend themselves too. I’m all ears!

I'm VERY serious about providing value to my readers and subscribers. If you're serious too, I'd like to personally teach you EXACTLY how to make money online...

WTF?! Who are they trying to kid?
You are only asserting your right to “Free Speech”, and informing the people of what you believe to be a scam. Thus, you are protecting the people from being victims in this scam program.
If they can’t give actual documented proof (real people with real phone numbers), then this must be a scam.
They should just go away & bother somebody else.
Keep up the great work, Mal. Everybody needs to do great work like us to rid the world of scammers like these.
BTW, check out my blog with the latest MLM reviews (link above).
Greg
Hmmm … and if they’re not a scam, maybe they should explain why this site looks suspiciously similar to this one: http://www.valuepromotions.net/google.
Not a scam, they say? I say, “Ha!”.
Thanks Greg, for your comments. I don’t think they even are disputing the fact that they are a scam. Their line of attack is to hassle me over the screenshot of their site – in their eyse ‘breach of copyright’. I think it was just a cheap shot because they’re unhappy that I’ve highlighted their modus operandi.
Have to say though, they shoulod be used it by now given the amount of sites already on their back.
Nice blog, by the way.
Mal
Howdy, Mal.
Very interesting how folks can jump quickly to “the law” even when they select only portions thereof.
One other comment on the blog, if I may… The red copy on grey background is difficult to read. Maybe use yellow or orange, as an alternative.
Thanks for all you do for all of us.
Ed
Hi MAL,
For my two cents worth I say keep up the good work you’re doing and help STOP these scammers in their tracks! I believe they’re only so defensive because they were caught. DOWN WITH THESE IDIOTS!!
I hear you, Ed. You’re not the first reader to comment recently on the colors. What you think now? I’ve made some changes.
Mal
To whom it may concern and to ALL who may be viewing, Mal Keenan has proven to be a man of “sterling” character. He has been( and is )nothing but an encourager to me; and I suspect, many others!
He has helped me grow in maturity as an online entrepeneur.
His “step by step” tutorials, along with complete an utter transparency, has gain my trust in him. I can honestly say that NO One has helped me as much as Mal. He could of kept the money I spent to purchase one of his fine products; but instead promptly refunded the money knowing I needed it……
