A spammer emailed me claiming that I was in his group and giving me a number. I haven’t looked at this opportunity for over a year. And I never signed up for anything. What effect does that have?

Answer:

Hi Jim

Good question.

By the sounds of your question this is some sort of Multi-level marketing company where you have been automatically signed up. By ‘what effect’, I presume you mean will you benefit in any way by becoming active in the company now.

The fact is that with all the companies I have worked with you WILL NOT make a dime unless you first of all pay to upgrade your membership in the company. Secondly, you will not make more than a few dollars, even after upgrading, if you don’t recruit new members to the company OR make sales of their product or service.

There is no doubt that being in early on in a powerline does benefit you BUT ONLY if you can personally refer people or sales.

Rightly or wrongly, the companies do hype up the fact that people are being placed below you. They usually do this by sending frequent emails informing you of new members in your powerline. What they don’t tell you is that you’re gonna have to work to make money.

If I join a MLM program or any other online opportunity I will first make a commitment to myself that I’m going to do what it takes to make some good money, regardless of how many come below me from my upline. That way I’m not dependent on a FREE ride.

I don’t mind putting in the initial work because I know it will benefit me so much down the line through residual income on a monthly basis for work I put in maybe many months before.

Another thing I should add is that you don’t have to worry about being charged, or anything like that, if you receive one of these emails. As long as you don’t add payment details in any form on their site, you should be fine.
