Choosing The Right Products To Promote As An Affiliate Marketer
When you are an affiliate marketer, choosing the right product to promote is a big dilemma. Of course, there are tons of gurus out there (real and self titled) who each have a different way of selecting products. And, in a way, this is true. There are many different ways of selecting products and they all work, but it depends on your marketing strategy and long term goals. Since there are do many ways of doing this, we will just cover how to make sense out of the information given to you by the most popular affiliate network so that you can make your own, educated decision.
When choosing the right products to promote as an affiliate marketer on ClickBank, you need to consider the statistics they provide about each product. Below the description of each product you will see something like this:
$/sale: $30.94 | Future $: – | Total $/sale: $30.94 | %/sale: 75.0% | %refd: 71.0% | grav: 171.34
$/sale: $30.94 – this is price of the item to the end customer. This is important because you want to know that the product you are offering is well priced for the value it provides your customers.
Future $: – this lets you know if there is any future money involved in the sale, an example of this would be a monthly subscription.
Total $/sale: $30.94-this of course lets you know the end total of the sale to your customers.
%/sale: 75.0%-this statistic is perhaps the most exciting for an affiliate marketer. This is what percentage of the total sales price the publisher is offering as a commission, so this represents your pay for each sale you make of that product!
%refd: 71.0%-this is a very important number when choosing the right product to promote as an affiliate marketer. This tells you what percentage of the total sales comes from affiliates. The higher this number is the better for you because this would mean that the product is highly successful when marketed by affiliate marketers.
grav: 171.34- this number is the most confusing for most affiliates. “grav” stands for “gravity” and this explains how well the product has been selling and how popular it is with the affiliates. This lets you know how many affiliates have sold the product recently.
With all of the ClickBank mysteries explained for you, it is up to you to take matters into your own hands and make profitable choices when choosing the right products to market as an affiliate marketer.

I'm VERY serious about providing value to my readers and subscribers. If you're serious too, I'd like to personally teach you EXACTLY how to make money online...

There’s one thing that’s not clear to me about the Clickbank program as I found it on their site. If you promote one product out of their thousands and the customer follows your link to buy the product, what happens if the customer then clicks the product tag and buys more products you did not specifically promote. Do you get commissions on all he bought or only the product he follows the link for? My present eBook shop is an affiliate program where I don’t make as much commission, but I just send the customer to a site that is set up as my store and I get commission on anything he buys there unless he later comes in on someone else’s link to their store. Is this that sort of program? Or do you only get commission on the specific products you are linking to.?
It all depends. Some people have stuff – books, dvds etc. that are theirs that they sell on Amazon. Others have stores where they buy inventory to stock the store. Another way is to find a company that will do drop shipments. You sell the item from their inventory, send them the money and where to ship it to.
