Did you say ‘JOB’???

When I hear the word ‘job’ I almost certainly think of that place I used to be 4-5 years ago where I got up at 7:30am every morning and dreaded another day - working for a measly few hundred dollars per month.

Do you know that feeling? I’m sure you do otherwise you most likely wouldn’t be at this site searching for an alternative to the 9-5 nightmare - or even worse the shift-work nightmare.

The opportunities that I have to offer are definitely not jobs.

It has been said that a job stops being a job when it is fun to do. That is the case when you are successful with your own home based business.

There are many work at home ideas to help you get started online. It is very important though that you are very clear on what exactly is involved. I am currently part of a mentorship group called the Pipspowergroup and one of the most important things we do is let our members know that owning your own succesful home business requires hard work and much persistence.

It also takes careful planning and a willingness to set some time aside everyday to promote your website.

The reason we need to tell our members this over and over is because many have been disillusioned by the hype and promises of quick riches online. From work at home moms, to students, to retired senior citizens, many fall for the BS.

There is a system though that if adhered to consistently will produce results. You just need to know the system and to have the determination and discipline to follow through. You see when you see the net just like any other sales place then there are certain things you MUST do to grow your business. The most important thing is to provide leads on a regular basis. A business without leads is dead.

We get these leads through drawing regular traffic to our websites which have been carefully put together to gain the maximum benefits from each visitor. This takes tweaking of course. What worked a couple of years ago will not work so good today, if at all.

Once we have the visitors and the leads we have to have an opprotunity or product to show to them. If you don’t have anything to sell then you don’t make money online. The good news is that you can become an affiliate marketer and sell other peoples products or services for commissions. This is how many online entrepreneurs make their money, including myself. There are literally 1000s of affiliate programs online to choose from.

There is nothing like the idea that I can take my laptop to anywhere in the world and earn an income. In fact, because I have already built a steady monthly residual income from home, I can move myself and family to any country in the world and continue to receive a monthly check from more than a few different online companies.

Work from Home Business Idea

My idea for a home based business started way back in 1998 when I discovered that it was ACTUALLY possible to make money online. Before that it would never have crossed my mind to set up my own small business online.

Remember, this was way back when it was still possible to send an email and have it delivered and read too. Things were quite in the early years of the WWW and it WAS a whole lot easier to make a living from a home business.

I was part-time back then and making a few extra dollars per month to supplement my offline income. I was finally able to work from home full-time in 2004.

The purpose of my blog and this post is to inform you that it is entirely possible for the average person to setup their own, genuine work at home business that will surpass and exceed their current income. I am an average guy and I’m doing it so that should be proof enough

Of course you shouldn’t listen only to me but do your own research. Through doing this you willfind that there are many thousands of ordinary Joes and Sallys in the U.S, U.K and indeed throughout the world earning a residual monthly income from the comfort of their own homes.

So if you have the notion to get started with your own part-time or full-time work at home job then there should be no stopping you. Treat your new enterprise and a serious undertaking, just like you would an offline business.

I am engaged in a bona-fide business. This takes time, work and yes - investment . If someone tells you that you are going to make $1000s and it won’t cost you a penny then run a mile. Easy Home Based Business

Setting up a work at home business can be a simple affair or it can be one of the most complicated things you ever do.

It all depends on how you go about it. Looking at it through the eyes of an experienced internet marketer, there are only a few steps to take, BUT most people over complicate it beyond belief. They have only themselves to blame.

Setting up an online business only takes 3 steps.

2. Find a hosting company to host your site. A hosting company allows your site to be hosted on their servers, which are basically massive computers. This enables your site to be online 24hrs per day, 365 per year. A hosting company will cost you from $5-$30 per month for a basic setup.

3. Find a website designer to design a website buy or find a free script to automatically build a website for you. Once such script is Wordpress. This will set a blog up at your webhost and is free.

That’s it! Easy, right? With a blog set up at your site you basically write your own content. A website IS content. No need for any bells or whistles, especially if you are in this to make money online.

In fact, the less complicated tools on your site the better, as these add-ons usually slow down the load time of the site. People will click away from your site before it even loads. You are not going to make many sales with a site like that, right?

Most newcomers to internet business are paralysed to take action. They come up with a million and one excuses why NOT to get started. The thing is, as you can see above, you can be started in less than half an hour.

Of course it isn’t so easy to drive traffic to your site and that’s how you make money but this can be learnt as you go. If you find an experienced marketer who has been there before you then you can learn from their trail and error. I am always willing to help out in this area.

When I think of working at home online I don’t think of the word ‘job’. To me, working from the comfort of my own living-room is a pleasure and that is something I DID NOT find in an offline job.

In fact, the main reason I persisted at finding a successful home business when I first came online in 1998 was because I hated my offline work so much.

It is important when thinking about starting an online business that you find enough reasons to help you become successful. It is the reasons WHY you want to make a living online that will keep you keeping on when you become disheartened.

Believe me there will be many times during your progress to a full-time online income that you will feel like giving up. it is said that out of 100 people who enter into this business, only 5 will succeed. I would hazard a guess that the 5 who actually do succeed are the ones who have enough reasons why they can’t stand to work for other people anymore.

There are so many PLUSES for starting to work from your own computer. You can spend more time with your kids, you start work when you want, you end when you want. You can take days or week off at a time. You can earn as much as you want from an online work at home job and this is determined by the effort you put in. Most offline jobs pay you the same wage no matter how much work you contribute.

There are literally 1000s of different work at home opportunities online today and the majority of them are legitimate ways to earn a living. There are scams out there too though, so watch out for them.
