Help Starting a Home Business

For the purposes of this blog post I am going to show how easy it is getting top ranking for keyword phrases that have little competition in the search engines.

The keyword I have chosen for this purpose is the term ‘help starting a home business’. The actual term was ‘help starting a business’ but I have added ‘home’ into the equation because that is the field that we work in.

Choosing the right keywords is a very important aspect of setting up any online business. You may think that such terms will have little or no traffic. It’s true that they may get little traffic but if they are appearing in the list of search terms that you have queried through certain keyword utilities then someone is searching google and the other major SEs using these phrases.

At this point I am just writing a blog post and already I have used the main keyword phrase, ‘help starting a home business’ a couple of times. You may also want to add variations of the keyword phrase like, ‘help getting started online’.

I copy the keywords into the tags fields at the bottom of my posts because I use a tool called Auto Social Poster to automatically post each of my blog articles to over 30 Social Bookmarking sites using the tags I put in the tag fields.

It also adds weight to your keyword phrases by adding bolding to your phrases as I have just done.

I usually write a blog post of between 400-600 words.

It has to be said that this strategy will not work on a brand new blog. You have to have already added some unique content to your blog over a period of around 1-2 months. I have used this strategy on blogs as little as 4 weeks old and have seen results.

I am confident that I will see a top ranking in the major search engines for this keyword phrase ‘help starting a home business’ in as little as 2-3 days.

Employment or Work at Home?

Which would you prefer? To make a living from your own living-room, taking time off when you feel like it. Have as many coffee breaks as you like. Paid holidays 12 times per year, if you like.

You can work part-time or full-time. You can start at any age. If you’re a student or a work at home mom then you are highly suited to this business too.

I have been doing this for 8-9 years now, 4 of those as a full-time affiliate marketer.

It actually took me 5 years to build my business to a stage where I could give up my secure offline employment. So, I can’t claim to be an overnight success. Who cares, now that I am where I’m at .

Owning your own home based business requires commitment, careful planning and continued hard work. That’s why most people never make it to become successful online business owners. If a business has been growing for at least a year and it has a proven track record with many satisfied customers and sales agents or affiliates, then it is worth a second look. You should also check that they pay on time and everytime.

As stated above, I am an affiliate marketer and you can be too. You don’t need to own your own products to be highly successful online.

There is only one EVER reason I see that people fail to make a success of their online home businesses and that is that they GIVE UP!

And so it goes until they finally give up in total disgust and bitterness - for some at least.

Can You Start a Home Business with NO Money?

Yes, it is possible to start a home based business with no cash down but I ask you, how realistic is it to expect to start any business without capital?

You wouldn’t expect to start an offline business without at least saving a little cash investment.

I personally use some free resources to promote my business websites but when I got started I expected to spend some money, and I did.

If you are truly serious about your new work at home business then please expect to invest money, somewhere along the line.

If you would like to get started for free then there are businesses like SFI that you can join free of charge. Then when you start to earn some cash you should reinvest this cash in resources to grow your business.

With the free option you can also expect to spend a lot more time to make progress. What you don’t spend in cash you WILL spend in time. I prefer to spend the cash as I value my time a lot more than the investment required.

All this said, I do understand that there will be people out there who are fully committed to starting a home business that just do not have the capital available. If you are in this category then please expect to spend at least a few hours daily submitting your site to free resources, like free classified sites, craigslist and other free resources.

The Best Way to Making Money on the Internet

I cannot think of any better way to get started with a home business than by joining and marketing affiliate programs. Ok, I may be a little biased because this is how I make my living but I believe that anyone honestly searching to establish a credible business online will find affiliate marketing very attractive.

What other business can you think of where you can virtually put the whole thing on auto-pilot? Sure, you can gain a lot of freedom by setting up your own products and marketing them online but you still have to worry about product delivery, aftersales support etc. etc.

When you are an affiliate marketer - selling other people products for commissions - you don’t deal with any of the above. The merchant or product owner deals with all the ins and outs of the business. Your only job is to market the product and collect your commission check.

Commissions on digital products like ebooks and software are usally processed by one of the big online merchant accounts like Clickbank.com. Clickbank allows you to take your affiliate link with which to make sales. They then track and split the sale price between you and the merchant and send you a check once every two weeks.

There is nothing better than coming back from holiday and finding checks in your mailbox that have been made while you basked in the sun. This has happened to me on a number of occasions and is not just hype.

Think about it! Your marketing, through having your own website or otherwise, is out there in cyberspace, viewable 24/7 365 days per year. It sells whether you are there or not.

Don’t mistake this for a get rich quick scheme. That, it is not. There is some initial work to be done and you do need to put in some time daily to maintain your business BUT the freedom that this business affords me is unimaginable.

For a start, I don’t have to leave my home to make my living. I can also take my laptop to virtually any country in the world that has an internet connection and make money. It was this concept that initially attracted me to making money online and empowered me to NEVER give up until I have found success.

Working at Home - Not All Good

Working from home isn’t easy. You know, it’s quite a chore to have to drag yourself out of bed at 10, 11am and switch on the laptop or P.C
