Why would anyone set up a home based business anyhow?

Well, there are lots of reason. For me it was a case of absolute fed upedness(is that a word?) with my offline job and I suspect that it is one of the main reasons other’s will set up or attempt to start their own work at home businesses.

Some will want to spend more time with their young families. This can be another great motivator for succeeding online.

Who wants to commute to work everyday when there is an achievable alternative to become a stay at home mom or dad?

I honestly believe that the work you put in daily at your offline job can be channeled into starting your own online business. In fact, as the internet grows there are becoming more and more ways that you can make money online.

It’s your job to find legitimate ways to do this.

One of the easiest ways to make it online is to sell the products and services of other business owners. This takes away the headache of having to worry about product delivery and aftersales support. This way of making a living online is known as affiliate marketing.

You don’t need your own website although it is advisable to eventually set one up as it will make your life as an affiliate marketer a whole lot easier and your profits greater.

What is a genuine home business?

From my experience, a home based business that you can be comfortable putting your time and effort into is one that is established, has a proven track record of making people successful and pays on time, every time.

There are loads of ways to check work at home businesses out online. You can just Google your search query, for instance “Legitimate Home Business” and check out the reviews and information that you get back.

Another useful way to check out work at home jobs is by visiting online discussion forums.

I have been working online since 1998 and I have researched many businesses. The one that I settled with I have been working since 2002. So, it took me a while and a lot of trial and error, spending $1000s just to find one that I could believe in.

The main thing to remember is that no matter how great the home employment business is you find, you WILL still need to do some work. Too many people come online and expect to get paid for nothing. Believe me, this is a pipe dream.

The rewards of running a serious home business are numerous but I did have to do some work to get to where I am today.

Free at Home Computer Jobs

If you are looking for work at home opportunities then there are 1000s to choose from. It’s important when thinking about working online that you approach reputable companies or at least someone who has some experience in this area.

When I came online in 1998 I was clueless where to get started. I ended up spending $1000s trying all sort of programs and never really getting anywhere.

After a couple of years I finally knew what I was doing. I am now finding great success working online and have been working full-time from home since 2004.

I actually work from a laptop, not a PC . It’s much more comfortable and manageable. The fact is I don’t have to work 9-5 anymore. Proven Home Based Businesses
I have been working online from home since 1998, full-time since 2004. To me, a proven home based business is one that has shown it’s ability to overcome obstacles and continue to earn money for it’s participants over at least three years.

There are many, many legitimate home businesses online today. From my experience there are literally 100s of ways that you can legitimately earn money online with 1000s of different businesses. It is a fact that most businesses fail within 3 years of starting. This applies to offline and online businesses.

So, the first thing you should do when contemplating joining a home business it to check how long this business has been online. The great thing about the internet is that you can put a companies’ name into Google or any other major search engine and you will find information about the company, usually written by independent observers. The best place to look for this info in on the various online discussion forums.

That said, there is a better way…

My advice to anyone setting up a business online is to actually get your own website. To register your own business name, your domain, is less than $10 per year and the web hosting can be bought for as little as $5 per month. This becomes YOUR business. So any work you do on this site or internet marketing to improve it’s web presence is going to benefit you longterm.

If you decide to join a different company and market their products or network marketing program, without your own site, you are NOT in control. If this company goes bust, your business disappears with it. Can you see the difference?

I am an affiliate marketer, meaning I almost exclusively market other peoples’ products BUT I sell them from my own site. I market MY site primarily, not theirs.

When you have your own site, for instance a website promoting many different home based businesses - if one company goes down you still have many left to promote from your website. The work on YOUR website you do today will benefit you well into the future.

You will have the power to do as you please with your business and take it in whichever direction you feel is best. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket, so to speak.

In conclusion, the best way to have a proven home based business it NOT to put your faith in any company but take control of your own internet future by investing in your own site.

Do Home Based Businesses Work?

Yes they certainly do BUT only if YOU work?

Most people who come online looking for a work at home opportunity are looking to get started free, not do any work and bring in loads of dollars. Are you one of them? What planet are you living on?

Could you possibly set up an offline business in the same fashion? NO, I don’t think so!

“There is no such thing as a free lunch” -This saying applies to home based businesses aswel.

If you are prepared to put in a little effort then you can be working from the comfort of your own living-room within a couple of months and with very little investment.

Well, little investment compared to what it would take to set up an offline business.

Setting up your own home based business doesn’t have to be difficult either if you are given the right guidance. I set up my own business back in 1998 and have been working online full-time since 2004.
