Get More Traffic Using Niche Articles

Sunday, December 31st, 2006

What is the key to Internet business success? It’s simple:

Targeted Traffic

Clever internet marketers have long used a variety of ways to herd targeted traffic to their web pages, such as: pay-per-click campaigns, email marketing, search engine optimization, and ezine advertising.

However, there is a simple, effective method that many marketers have missed — submitting brief, 400+ word articles, so that they appear all over the internet.

Linking Readers Back To Your Website

The time and effort you spend on these mini-articles is a shrewd investment. Here are a few of the ways widespread publication of your articles pays off:

Every article you submit contains a link back to your website. Every link helps your website gain link popularity, one of the factors in your search engine ranking.

If your article’s content matches the content of the web page you’ve linked it to, the search engines will regard this as a relevant link. Relevant links to your website are valued even higher by the search engines.

And ultimately, the higher your site is ranked, the more traffic you will get.

People Want Information

It helps to keep in mind that people who use the search engines are looking for information. If they happen upon one of your articles and find it interesting and useful, they will be likely to click on the link to your website to continue their research.

The more places your articles appears, the more people will find and read them, and the more traffic that will be funneled to your website.

What Makes An Effective Article?

How do you create one of these articles? Simple. Your article should be around 400-800 words long and contain just enough information to:

(a) offer the reader some useful facts,
(b) motivate the reader to click on the link to your website for more information, and
(c) attract the attention of an ezine editor who may republish your article.

A good article might contain 1 or 2 tips extracted from an information product you are selling on your website. You could also use paraphrased information from a web page you want the reader to visit. Also effective is a review of a product you would like the reader to purchase. The review would contain a link pointing to your affiliate page through a link tracker, or to a page on your own website where you offer more details.

Get A Ghostwriter

No time or inclination to write your own articles? Pay a ghostwriter to write them for you. Simply visit websites like Elance where you can post a description of the articles you want written, and writers will contact you.

When your article is done, you’ll want to submit it to as many places as possible, including:

Article Directories. They will run a quick content check, then publish your article. Once posted to one of these directories, it will likely be republished all over the internet. Many publishers are routinely on the lookout for quality articles. You simply allow them the rights to re-use your article and in exchange they leave intact the link back to your website contained in the bio at the bottom of your article. You just gained another link without lifting a finger.

Ezine Editors. You’ll get lots of well-targeted traffic by submitting your articles to popular ezines that are related to your niche website. Ezines are always in need of new, good quality content. Once your article is published in an ezine, you will get lots of publicity in return. Getting your articles in ezines read by hundreds, or even thousands of people is an excellent way to quickly increase traffic to your website.

Your Own Article Directory. Many ezine publishers and webmasters don’t realize that article directories even exist. Once they read one of your articles from a directory, they will visit your website, which could prominently display a link to your own article directory. The link should make clear the fact that your content is free for use in any website or ezine. “Free Content For Your Ezine” should appear in a link that is prominent on your directory website.

Keep in mind: this is a huge win-win-win process for all involved.

Authors get free publicity and links back to their website(s)
Publishers get free information for their website(s)
Readers get free quality information for their research and buying needs.

3 Powerful Affiliate Marketing Tactics to Effectively Close the Sale

3 Powerful Affiliate Marketing Tactics to Effectively Close the Sale
As an affiliate marketer, my main aim is to get the most profit out of the market I am promoting to. Over the years through trial and error I have perfected what I believe to be three of the most important strategies for gaining nice profits from whichever internet market you decide to enter.

So, let’s get started…

Strategy Number One - You should absolutely set up a website for your affiliate products. Sure, every product will come with it’s own affiliate page customised with your unique affiliate links but smart marketers know that this is not enough. It is very important that you set up your own website for your affiliate products. That includes registering your domain and hosting, plus creating or paying for a simple web design complete with the affiliate images that most affiliate programs provide.

Setting up a website may seem like too much hard work but believe me, it pays off in terms of future profits if you put in the initial effort.

It also pays to create a different page within your website for each affiliate product or service. You could write an article or review page highlighting the benefits of using your recomended service with a link to your unique affiliate page.

Setting up a blog geared towards your affiliate market is the perfect way to impliment the above strategy.

Strategy Number Two - Next on my list of essential strategies is to place an optin form on your website offering a free report outlining the benfits of your service. It is a fact that the majority of sales are made between the fifth and twelfth contact between you and your prospect.

If a prospect visits your site and then clicks off never to return, you have missed many more opportunities to close the sale. That’s where the optin form comes in. If you manage to entice website visitors to offer their email address then you can follow up via an email autoresponder as often as you like or until the prospect unsubscribes from your list.

Short 7 day reports are quite effective and if you provide useful information you may have a customer for life. Capturing a prospects email address is one of the most important tasks in affiliate marketing and internet marketing as a whole.

Strategy Number Three - Drive TARGETED traffic to your site. No point in paying to send general website visitors to a site built around the topic of “Exotic Birds”. Pointless writing and submitting articles on “Travel in Italy” if you are sending visitors to an “Internet Marketing” site. You get the point?

It is essential that your visitors are targeted to your affiliate marketing niche if you are going to close the sale. This point may seem obvious to some, but many IM newbies spend countless hours and dollars focusing on website traffic that is simply not interested in what they have to offer.

The three strategies above are extremely effective and even more so in a tight niche market. If you employ this advice you are well on your way to becoming a successful affiliate marketer.

Just a simple newsletter or article…right?…. WRONG! A unique selling proposi

Thursday, December 28th, 2006

If your web site is not generating enough visitors and you are frustrated with your
sales conversion ratio, then you might want to look at these few practical ideas that
can assist your web site in getting more first time visitors, more repeat visitors,
and also help generate more sales… by setting up or tweaking your website’s unique selling proposition through the use of newsletter and article distribution. Let me explain what I mean by this.

Firstly, if you aren’t aware of the value of running a newsletter on your website,
you need to understand the importance of being able to follow up with a visitor by
getting their follow-up email address. If your website is ‘enabled’ to deliver
automated content to visitors through the use of an autoresponder service, you
will be able to introduce your service, offer something valuable and build the
neccessary relationship with your subscriber, in order for them to start making
use of you as a product or service provider. Something that has always worked well on a website to motivate visitors to subscribe to your newsletter, is giving away a freebie, like an ebook on the same topic as your website and newsletter,
to increase your subscriber signups.

So it is important that you build a subscriber base for your newsletter in order to
stay in contact with subscribers, and then in turn offer your products or services
which will assist you in generating more sales or a closer relationship with your
subscribers. Now lets look at some specific tips that combine newsletter and article
distribution into a unique selling proposition for your business. Even if you’re not
a writer, this can be done by just paying attention to your newsletter presentation
style along with some initial brain-storming and fine-tuning.

* When a subscriber signs up for your newsletter, you should provide prompt to-the-point style meaty content tips and techniques about the industry. By doing a quick self-analyses about your specific industry on paper, you can, say, break the industry into its 3 main criteria. You can now come up with, say, 3-5 important sub-points about each aspect. This simple step alone can now allow you to put together a subscriber follow-up series of at least 5 emails pertaining to your industry.

* Get your subscriber into the habit of clicking on a link / links within your email,
whilst staying within the email’s line of presentation. In other words, dont
wildly change your topic in an attempt to recommend a product or service
(or affiliate services) to your subscriber.

* Your email should allow the subscriber to be one click away from the recommended solution, presented to them through an article-styled web page on your own web site. Prevent your newsletter from pointing to websites other than your own. This will allow your subscriber to have added confidence in your product or as a service provider, even though you recommend an affiliate product or have an affiliate product review set up on that specific web page. This is also for
web site ranking purposes mentioned further down.

* Try to keep your newsletter uncomplicated - short, simple, and to-the-point,
whilst presenting your product or service confidently - and eliminating any doubts
in the mind of your subscriber. It should contain meaty content with links that
points subscribers to your article-style optimized pages which contains a more
indept conclusion and solution to the problem, along with those products or services you recommend for solving the problem. Subscribers should see you as an expert on the subject you are offering.

* By enforcing this common problem - click - solution technique within your newsletter, and providing problem solving articles with solutions, you will help your subscribers reach a purchase decision sooner or act to seek a closer relationship with you, your product or service.

* In principle your newsletter could simply provide valuable tips and techniques from within your industry to provide subscriber confidence and keep subscribers on their toes with regards to the industry, before they have the option to click to your article pages which will present a more power-packed conclusion and solution to the specific problem - which in turn should help your subscribers taking firmer action regarding your service.

* Once your newsletter and web site article pages is set up in such way, you can now write teaser-articles for those article pages and syndicate those teasers through article syndication services, along with general submissions to article directories. Article distribtion should in my opinion form an important part of your website promotion and can have a great impact on your business. There are thousands of ezine publishers online that needs good content through which you can promote your articles.

A benefit of this method of article distribution is that you will allways have
articles that is written which incorporates direct selling techniques to sell your
product or service to your visitors, whilst your website will gain link popularity
within the search engines through the increased syndication of your teaser
articles (the web site link you provide in your articles resource box) to provide
increased reachability of your web site within organic search engine traffic.

By implementing some of the methods mentioned above, you could dramatically increase your web site traffic; Simply by putting these things into place and making sure that it is functioning properly, and then overseeing it on a regular basis, can take your web site or product-driven portion of your web site to increased profitability.

Driving a strong stream of visitors to your web site

Monday, December 25th, 2006

It is worth looking at some values and strengths of a few
technical and promotional elements of your website that
will help you to lay a foundation in building profitable
online success. Once you have decided on your market and
have chosen a relevant domain name for your online business,
you need simple and effective tools and methods to put and
keep your business on a profitable track. Ideally you will
want to make use of easy-to-use methods that keeps visitors
coming to your website. Lets look at a few practical ideas.

When a visitor comes to your website you have to get their
follow-up information by collecting their email address.
It is important to ‘enable’ your web site to automatically
deliver quality content such as a newsletter to visitors
and allow you to follow up with extra information when
necessary. Top marketers agree that this forms a large
percentage of their online success. How do you do this?
You create forms on your web pages, giving visitors the
chance to subscribe to your opt-in list, newsletter or
report. This allows you to introduce your service and
offer something valuable in order to build relationship.
Email follow-up through autoresponders is totally free
and an absolute necessity for implementing. All you need
to do is integrate the autoresponder into your web site
via a form so that you can pre-load it with your newsletters.
You may say that you’re not a writer, but what do you know
about your industry? Write it down and put it into an
informative newsletter. Subscribers can now begin to see
you as an expert on the subject and look to you for the
solutions that your business is already offering.

Once your newsletter is up and running, you can use these
very same tips and ideas you share with your subscribers
and also write a weekly article about your product or
service, and then submit it to ezines online. This is
very easy to do and will have great response for your
business. There are tens of thousands of ezine publishers
online that needs good content, and will give you valuable
exposure for your business. You will have many sites
linking to your site and people will be able to read what
your business is about and visit your website. Then they
will also be able to subscribe to your newsletter which
provides even more information about your product or
service. Each article has got a resource box at the
bottom which allows visitors to visit your web site.
Write your 4 to 6 line resource box by viewing some
samples online and making up your own. Finding details
of ezine publishers can quite easily be done through
looking up in search engines.

Let’s go a step further and look at newspaper classifieds.
By using little snippets of ideas from your newsletters
and articles, you can come up with short eye catching
promotional messages to use in newspaper classifieds.
There are newspaper companies that offer state wide and
nation wide advertising in their papers, often covering
readership in excess of 2 to 3 million. By placing 10-15
word tiny classified ads all over the globe can
dramatically increase your website traffic. A big
mistake people make when doing this is to try and make
sales directly from their ads instead of just generating
leads for later follow-up. You would want to get your
leads to your web site first from where they can subscribe
to your automated content.

Lastly lets consider the eye opener an affiliate program
can have for your business. With the right product or
service it is by far the hottest way of building your
business and customer base. Submit your program to affiliate
directories across the web. You’ll have affiliates making
sales for you and not paying a cent in advertising until
you’ve made the sale! Your advertising will be covered
by your affiliates, and you can concentrate on providing
customer service and continue follow-up with your increasing
customer base through newsletter delivery and other product
offers.

By becoming familiar with how important it is to stay relevant
when implementing these factors will benefit your business and
you will find that you’ll be achieving better results.

How to Write that Press Release Masterpiece?

Friday, December 22nd, 2006

How to Write that Press Release Masterpiece?

Unless you’re a seasoned writer, then writing your press release might be your hardest task. If your budget allows, you can always pay some expert to write it for you. Depending on your sites content, product or services, will determine how hard it will be to find something newsworthy to write about. The better the news value, the more chance your press release has of being published.

Unless you’re business is of great importance or you have a one of a kind website that everyone wants to know about, then a new website launch is not ground breaking news to the rest of the world. The mere fact that a website is open for business happens every minute as you read.
You need to tell the right story. A story with a great ‘angle’. Your targeted publication must find it interesting and newsworthy.

Your press release must not become your sales literature. It is used to tell the whole world about your ground breaking news. To tell readers about an event that has or will happen. Having great news to tell is one part, writing it properly and in a certain way or format, is the other.

Press release tips:

Your press release should not sound like a sales pitch or ad. It must sound like news;
I should only be submitted to the media that is similar to the topic of your press release;
Try to wrap your press release around the current news events if possible;
Try to keep your press release to a maximum of one page in length;
Use short paragraphs and double space between them;
The headline, contact info and release date should be found at the top of the press release;
The headline and first paragraph should catch the reader’s attention. It should entice them to read more;
Check and triple check your press release for errors before submitting;
The press release should be presented from a third-person view, not a personal voice;
Provide references to any statistics and facts, not general opinion.

Newsworthy press release ideas:

Revolutionary new product launch on your website;
Online seminar or course you’re hosting;
A strange or funny story how your business started;
Announce your major sponsorship or contest giveaway;
Online survey results and statistics presented in the form of a press release;
Announce the recruitment of your new CIO;
A major joint venture with another company;
A new book being released on your website;
A fundraising event on your website.

Learn by reading other businesses press releases, especially from press releases that obtain huge exposure. See how they do it and what they do best.

Your headline and opening paragraph should contain some of your best work. It needs to grab the reader’s attention quickly. Usually this will determine the success of your press release as to whether it is discovered or not.

When writing your press release, make sure you begin with the date and city in the body then continue by reporting on the facts. It is always good to supply the answers to the common questions like the Who, Where, Why, What, When and How. If you don’t have the answers, you should make the effort to find them. These should be answered in the first paragraph.

It is good practice to include quotes in your press release. It increases the chance of your press release being used and picked up by a journalist. It adds credibility and human interest to a media release. The second paragraph is the best place for these.

Make things easy incase you need to be contacted for further information or clarification. Do not forget to include your contact information or your work of art might never see the media lights.

Your press release should end with a call to action. What is it exactly that you want your readers to do after reading your masterpiece?

Article Writing Techniques

Tuesday, December 19th, 2006

As you know a well written article can do wonders for your exposure and traffic.

The article should contain good useful information. It should be of interest to the reader. A boring article could possibly brand your site as boring also. Although, someone might find it useful if they’re having trouble sleeping. You might want to write about your tips and techniques and turn them into a series of articles for the newcomers that are starting out in this business.

An article that solves someone’s particular problem or answers their questions is a good article. You will be amazed at the number of people that will read an informative and interesting article.

Whatever it is you choose to write about, you will be starting from the headline; it should catch the people’s attention. It must make them read the next paragraph with eagerness to learn more. The title of your article can more or less determine the success of your articles exposure.

Your chosen article topic must match the contents or theme of your website. If your expertise is about banner marketing and your website reflects this, then writing your article about the pros and cons of banner advertising or creation could be a good option.

You article introduction should be powerful continuing from the headline. It must be compelling enough to keep the reader wanting more.

The content must be interesting and informative. It must contain what the headline and introduction promises. If the content is written with the intention to help the reader solve their problem or answer their questions, then your reader will appreciate your information and continue reading to the end and hopefully clicking on your link for more satisfying advice. At this point the reader already likes your work and the chances of him or her buying your product has been fused with trust.

As mentioned earlier the placement of your keywords is paramount to the success of your article reaching its target market. The keyword/s should exist in the headline of your article, in the introduction, and in the main body. They should not interfere with the flow of you message and they should look like they belong there. Your keyword density probably shouldn’t exceed 3% in your article. This would simply mean 3 keywords for every hundred words.

Your article might be seen by thousands of potential customers, so it is important that you include a brief description of yourself or your product along with your name and website URL on the bottom. Your little ad here should entice the reader to visit the link.

Pay Per Click - Is it for You?

Saturday, December 16th, 2006

What is Pay Per Click?

Pay Per Click Advertising is an online advertising format
that enables you to place your advertisements at or near
the top of search engines for your keywords based on the
amount you bid. Imagine that you have built a great website
with relevant keywords, excellent keyword density, perfect
anchor text, and good links back to your site. You now look
on the search engines for your keywords and your site
doesn’t show up? What do you do?

Your best bet is to advertise. You could advertise on
television, on the radio, and in news papers but that could
be beyond your budget and it might not be cost effective.
An alternative could be Pay Per Click Advertising.

How to Use Pay Per Click Advertising

You must follow the guidelines for each of the PPC search
engines to format your ads correctly. That is not difficult
to do but it does limit how many words and what kind of
words you may use. It requires you to make your ad well
written with short headlines and limited ad content.

Here are recommendations for making good PPC ads:

Use relevant keywords in your title. You only get a second
or two to catch the searchers attention.

Write your ad specifically for the target audience. They
are the people you want to click through and take some kind
of action. You do not want people clicking your ad that
have no interest in what you are “selling”, because they
will just cost you money with no hope of return on your
investment.

Point the ad to a specific page on your site where the
information is relevant to the searcher. Otherwise they
will hit the back key and move on to another site. Many PPC
advertisers just send their viewers to their home page and
wonder why they get poor results. You want the page they
land on to get them to take some kind of action. That may
be to buy something, sign up for your newsletter, or make a
yes or no decision.

Do not use all capitalizations or use exclamation points
in your title. The search engines specifically state not to
do this. They use human editors and your ad can be rejected.

Try to get somewhere in the top five positions so your ad
will show up on the first page of the buyers’ search. Often
times there is a great difference in the cost between the
first position and the second position and between the
second position and third position.

After you have gained experience with PPC ads, start
experimenting with changes to your ads and test them to see
if you can get a better return. The big PPC adsvertisers
split test their ads by rotating them to see if small
changes in the wording affect the click throughs.

Where to advertise

The two top places to advertise are Google Adwords and
Yahoo’s Overture. MSN appears to be gearing up for a PPC
system similar to Google and Yahoo. Right now they get
their ads from Yahoo.

The Dark Side of PPC

There is, unfortunately, a problem going on with the Pay
Per Click search engines. It is called PPC fraud. PPC fraud
can break your bank account.

PPC fraud is when someone or some group decides to click
on your ad multiple times with no intention except to cost
you money. These can be in the hundreds or thousands of
clicks. They typically use click bots that mimic human
click throughs from various IP Addresses making it hard for
the search engines to recognize what is happening.

Who would do this? It could be a competitor trying to
bankrupt you. It could be an individual or groups trying to
make money from systems similar to Google Adsense. It could
be internet vandals just doing it for kicks.

It doesn’t matter who is doing it. It matters that you can
find yourself in a heap of financial trouble.

What you should do is monitor your ads. You should do that
anyway to determine how your campaign is going i.e. are you
getting the return on investment you need, and you should
do it for ad testing. If you sense that click fraud is
happening, immediately suspend your campaign and contact
your PPC engine and let them know about it. You may be able
to get your PPC engine to refund the fraudulent amounts.

Google has stated in their annual report that they may
have to refund PPC fraud and they don’t know how much it
will cost them.

This is not meant to scare you away from using PPC. It is
meant to make you aware that it is happening so that you
can approach it prudently.

Conclusion

Pay Per Click when done right can be an effective and low
cost means to draw live paying customers to your web pages
and be a strong tool in your arsenal for making money on
the internet.

Search Engine Optimization and Website customization Tips

Wednesday, December 13th, 2006

People highly search for Search engine optimization , better PageRank in Google etc. Infact I too was one of them , I would like to state some common tips I came across for increasing page rank and better listing in Search Engines.

Linking
It`s where your site`s existense is , if you make a page and tell a friend or 2 nothing happens no one will know about your site.
Get links to your site from wherever possible, if you have 5 links to your site not only people will come to you from 5 locations , you are making it known to search engine`s as it crawls to your site 5 different locations and you`re indirectly increasing your google pagerank too.

PR distribution can be blocked by adding rel=”nofollow” in the url tag.

Sitemap
Using sitemap is a great way to get users what they want , If a visitor is lost he can easily find out the way using a sitemap. It`s like the “You Are Here” boards at parks etc.
Usually website`s using flash as thier menu`s and links should use this as this is the only alternative to get linked for search engine bots. But make sure to make the sitemap short, as search engines may not crawl the high size files for too long that is just few links get crawled.
If you’re still concerned about your page’s file size, maybe you should look into converting your site’s code to XHTML/CSS, which has been known to reduce file sizes by up to 60%.

Rich Content
The more the content , more will be the people coming to your site .
Suppose a person searches for keyword “Hosting” , and one of your site`s page have the word “Hosting” then your site page gets listed in the search . now if you update content of your site according to the need of the users obviously your page will get more hits . Getting hits inditerectly means that u make money `cause as many people browse through ads to ads .
Offer as much as you can to your visitors, this is the only way you can make your visitor come again & again, If you`re site is a mobile information site give the user some free tone`s and mobile software and make a promise to add more later .

Google PageRank
Better Pagerank means better Hits ,

  • Although People go mad for pagerank , You will never know what your true PR is. The toolbar PR is highly inaccurate and is not updated for months , you get different pagerank on different PG checking site`s for the same URL .
  • PR is not related to how high your site will rank. Rather, a higher PR will cause Googlebot to dig deeper when deep crawling your site. it is good to have high PR but you don`t have to run for it.
  • The best way for a page to achieve high PR is to get linked from high pagerank site`s and forums. Spamming on forum helps a lot , LOL

Layout ?
I`ve seen people leave site`s just because it`s not good at eye . not everyone looks for content, some may be browsing just for fun but still you can`t afford to miss them. Some users even have a feeling that only people with good content can come up with a cool site . And I do suggest you to have a joke page or some light / sweet content on you site.

PHP and Google
Google hate`s php ?
Can`t say … but google does not list php files of every site . That is If you have a url ending with blah.php?topic=1&view=23 then google will only list the one blah.php file . SO you need to make it a HTML page or user mod rewrite in CMS.

  • Mod Rewrite is something that is done to make .php extention files show as .html extention before it is shown to user . It is popular among CMS like PHPnuke, Drupal , Mambo etc. It can be done for our own PHP pages too, all we have to do is edit .htaccess file to make it that way.

Hosting & Domains
Always host from a Reliable host , which has a good customer service and the one which you have access anytime (`cause you don`t know when you need them) . Check if it has enough speed and no downtime . Downtime can lead your site to heavy loss as it might be the time a customer comes or the search engine crawls. You can monitor your site from uptime checkers like uppanel etc.
When you buy domains buy something related to what your going to buy like it`s a bit odd when you have your name in domain and have a hosting site.

Heading
For an professional look you need your webpage content to be seperated, while writing an article use tag for headings. Search engine spiders identifies this as an topic of the given article.
Not only that it is good for search engine`s , users will find the pages easy to navigate through. If you find the tag a bit odd for your design , then use CSS to change the look . Search engine spiders don`t take CSS while crawling, So you can fake it to look like the default.

Search Marketing Guide: How to Write a Landing Page That Converts

Sunday, December 10th, 2006

If you’re paying for click-through’s from Google or another search engine, you want to make sure your investment provides a return. You do that with a landing page.

Searchers click-through to your page because your ad captures their attention and creates interest. Your landing page now needs to build on that interest, turn it into desire and, ultimately, get action.

To be effective, your landing page needs to work like a sales letter. It needs to be designed around a very clear objective - the action you want - and it needs to employ all the motivating and persuasive tools necessary to get the job done.

Whether it actually is a sales letter depends…

YOUR GOAL GUIDES THE APPROACH

You have to clearly define what it is that you want the visitor to do. The format you use to achieve that varies depending on the objective. Even though dozens of variations exist, there are really only two objectives . You’re trying to get the visitor to either…

– Give you their email and possibly other information for your mailing list, or
– Buy

If you want them to buy, then throw all the logs on the fire. Put a long-form sales letter on your landing page that they just cannot resist. Be sure it uses an appeal that matches up to what the visitor was originally searching for. That will increase your chances of making a sale.

But don’t expect a high rate of conversion — even if your letter is strong enough to bend steel. Research keeps telling us that almost no one buys immediately when they’re shopping online. Conventional wisdom says a prospect has to see your message at least seven times!

The reason you won’t often sell straight off the landing page goes back to the very reason the visitor got there in the first place — the search engines. When a visitor arrives from a search, it’s just too easy to back up and compare prices, find other sources, and shop around.

MOST MARKETERS WANT AN EMAIL ADDRESS

Which is why so many landing pages just try to collect email addresses. It’s still not EASY, but it’s eas-ier. And actually, it leads to more sales in the long run.

The tried and true approach is to offer a free “something” in return for signing up for the e-mailing list. It used to be enough to offer a free subscription to your newsletter, but that rarely works these days. Too many newsletters flood the e-waves and few contain any useful information (present newsletter excepted, of course). Seachers realize they’re just signing up to get a lot of sales pitches.

No, you have to offer something more. A book or software or an audio or video tutorial — something with real, immediate value.

And that’s what your landing page copy sells.

YES, YOU EVEN HAVE TO SELL YOUR FREE OFFER

It seems odd that we have to put out so much effort just to give something away - but we do. The only difference is that you can usually make your pitch relatively brief. The key is to have a good giveaway. If the searcher really wants it, you don’t have to say as much.

That’s especially true when you’ve featured the giveaway item in your pay-per-click ad. You can usually just…

– Confirm in your headline that the searcher has arrived at the right place to claim their prize
– Prove it’s worth having with a benefit-heavy bullet list
– Explain briefly that their email address is required because of your delivery method
– Present an easy to use form for them to input their email address.

You can ask for anything on your form, but most marketers restrict the required blanks to capturing an email address and a name. The more you ask, the more you have to sell why you need it.

The actual email form is most often linked to an autoresponder service these days. You use the autoresponder service to handle your follow up and ultimately sell the prospect who’s just been added to your mailing list.

FINAL WORD

To see a good example of a landing page, check out master marketer, David DeAngelo’s minisite: DoubleYourDating.com

You may even want to sign up and get on his email list to see the kind of email marketing campaign he conducts.

It’s a mistake to pay for traffic and then send it to a generic home page. Create a landing page that sells exactly what you offered in your ad.

And if you really want to reach the heights of Internet Marketing achievement, focus on building your e-mailing list. Like the (richest) guru’s say, “the money is in the list!”

How to make a link page and outbound link structure?

Thursday, December 7th, 2006

This is a major question, which comes in mind of every SEO, link building company and webmaster’s that what kind of link page should be on their site or what is the best way of giving outbound link. Every body need links and to get it one has to give back some thing in return unless your contents are so good that the site is voluntarily linked by others. To give back link you need some link page or some other way of giving outbound links. What method should be adopted for outbound links structuring. In my opinion you can adopt following :

  1. 1. The best way to give outbound link is to give links within the content page as it is most useful for users who read your site contents. This method of linking is natural and long lasting as search engines want that the pages should be made for users and not for the search engines
  2. 2. You can make 4 to 6 resources pages but each page should be on particular theme and object of the page should match the theme of your site. In such a way you will provide the users more related resources on same topic at one place. It will help you in making an authority page.
  3. 3. You can also adopt the traditional style which is used in research papers as well as books also where links are given at the end of the page referred to as more references and resources. It gives more information to the users about any particular topic thus enriching their knowledge more. There are many other ways of making link page but the most common is to have a long page with huge list of sites on one single page and linking each site with its title or optimized anchor text without having any relevance between the sites. Such pages never bring traffic rather we just make it only for search engines, which is no doubt a Spam. Google mentioned in its SEO guidelines “Make pages for users, not for search engines “. Search engines are well aware of such kind of link pages and are definitely to be treated by search engines as “Link Farm” and will be penalized.

So in order to have the maximum benefit along with increasing traffic and giving the best to your site users make relevant, authority based link resources which would be beneficial for both your site as well as for the users.
